93.6 RAM FM - Joint Israeli Palestinian Radio

I heard about this in the news on the radio today, and then found an article in Ha'aretz (english: http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/828233.html, hebrew: http://www.haaretz.co.il/hasite/spages/828291.html).

The Hebrew article is a bit more informative than the English one, and explains the neutral wording that the station's news department is planning on using. So, for example, instead of saying "A Suicide Terrorist" or "Martyr", they plan to say "A Palestinian blew himself up".

I'm looking forward to this station going live tomorrow morning. I just hope reception in my area will be adequate.

By the way - I'm happy to report that reception of the transmissions in my area (central Israel) is quite good.

My car's radio doesn't stop in this station when seeking, but if I set the frequency manually then I hear just fine.

Hi Berksie, Congratulations on your new mission in a Hot Spot as seen on CNN! Here's hoping that you are able to rub off a little bit of the Mandela Magic in a very difficult part of the world and, via music, get people talking to one another again and forget all the emotions, sterotypes and leave the wrangling to the politicians. We are after all just people with very similar hopes, fears and aspirations whatever religion we may be! Perhaps a little sakkie, sakie?? Are you going live on the internet? Best wishes, John, South Africa
